Journal Moon

Imagine that no one on Earth used a calendar.  You need to develop a new calendar to make sense of the chaos. For your new calendar development you need to include the following: 1- describe the system you would use to organize days/months/years (for example our calendar organizes time based on the Earth’s rotation and revolution), 2-how and when would the different season occur, and 3- how time would be established (night and day).

OR

There are parts of the Earth (Arctic and Antarctic Circle-Iceland, Sweden, Russia, NW Canada, etc) that experience “Midnight Sun” (sun never falls below the horizon- 24 hours sunlight) and “Polar Night” ( sun does not rise).
Would you rather live through the “Midnight Sun” or “Polar Night” for 6 months? Explain your choice!

Journal Colonization

As we approach 2020-2030, both NASA and private companies have planned to colonize Mars.  The goal from both avenues of space exploration (NASA and private) is eventually to have citizens of Earth live on Mars.  Develop a list of 10 Mars Bills of Rights (serve and protect individual rights) specific to the new colonization of Mars. Explain what each Bill of Right means to the citizens of Mars.

As we approach 2020-2030, both NASA and private companies have planned to colonize Mars.
Leadership roles will play an important part in the establishment of a colony on Mars. Develop 5 leadership roles that will govern the new colony development and formulate expectations and regulations for all humans on Mars. For each leadership role include the following:
1- Name of the leadership role- name can be made up and/or related to Mars
2- Description of the leadership role- What does this leader do to help develop Mars with expectations and regulations?
3- Why is this leadership role needed on Mars?
